About the Role
An experienced Associate Director – Duck Creek Policy to lead end‑to‑end delivery, architecture, and governance of Duck Creek Policy solutions for Australian insurers. This role combines technology leadership, product strategy, solution oversight, and stakeholder management to deliver scalable, compliant, and high‑quality Policy Administration System capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Product Leadership
- Own the Duck Creek Policy roadmap and feature prioritization.
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery across design, build, testing, deployment, and support.
- Manage cross‑functional teams and ensure predictable, high‑quality releases.
- Track KPIs: STP%, quote‑to‑bind performance, rating agility, production quality.
Solution Architecture & Governance
- Define and maintain DCT Policy reference architecture (Author, Rating, ManuScript, APIs).
- Drive OOTB vs configuration vs customization decisions to reduce complexity and cost.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance for high‑volume quoting periods.
Product Configuration & Policy Implementation
- Oversee product/coverage configuration, workflows, rules, and forms.
- Govern rating table design, algorithms, and actuarial alignment.
- Ensure accurate documents and output (templates, forms, certificates, schedules).
Integration & Ecosystem Enablement
- Lead integration with Billing, Claims, CRM, data platforms, underwriting and digital channels.
- Establish API‑first patterns for brokers, portals, and aggregators.
- Define data contracts, events, and telemetry for analytics.
Stakeholder, Vendor & Team Leadership
- Engage senior business and technology stakeholders with clear communication.
- Lead vendors, Duck Creek OnDemand teams, and SI partners to meet SLAs.
- Mentor and develop teams across BA, configuration, rating, QA, architecture, and DevOps.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Expertise
- 10+ years in Duck Creek Policy with strong hands‑on and leadership experience.
- Deep understanding of Product Studio/Author, Rating, ManuScript, Forms, and APIs.
- Proven delivery of large Duck Creek Policy implementations in the Australian market.
- Strong knowledge of integration patterns and cloud (Azure/AWS) deployment models.
- Experience managing non‑functional requirements and performance optimisation.
Domain & Regulatory Knowledge
- Strong background in Australian P&C: Motor, Home, Landlord, SME/Commercial.
- Understanding of underwriting workflows, broker operations, and pricing processes.
Leadership & Delivery Skills
- Ability to manage multi‑stream programs with onshore/offshore teams.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Proven experience in Agile/SAFe environments with enterprise‑level governance.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent (Master’s preferred).
- Agile/SAFe, cloud, and Duck Creek certifications are highly desirable.
