Arun Balakrishnan is Group Chairman and CEO of Xceedance, which he co-founded in 2013. He has led its growth to more than 5,500 professionals serving over 350 insurance organizations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, building integrated capabilities in underwriting, claims, actuarial, technology, analytics, and operations to help insurers modernize and compete.
He is widely recognized for his views on how AI is reshaping insurance operating models, leadership, and economics, and speaks and writes frequently on AI, insurance innovation, entrepreneurship, and operational transformation.
Before founding Xceedance, he was CEO of Berkshire Hathaway's insurance operations in India, after launching one of the country's earliest online insurance ventures.
Arun also invests in early-stage technology companies and mentors entrepreneurs.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Nautical Sciences from Mumbai University and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
